The title took the Demon’s Souls formula and made it even harder, and bleaker, and filled its dark world with so many masochistic delights it would make a Cenebite blush. Elden Ring may have taken the series into the light, but it was Dark Souls that enveloped players in FromSoft’s addictive shroud.

As for the Dodgers, it’s all about Shohei Ohtani, who became the first person in baseball history to hit 50 homers and steal 50 bases in a season. He signed a 10-year, $700 million contract with LA last winter.
“I’ve definitely got to step up, and I’ve got to do my job,” Judge said. “Guys around me are doing their jobs, getting on base, and I’m failing at backing them up. We’ve got to turn it around in Game 3.”
Yankees: The Yankees had to backfill Game 2 after Carlos Rodón registered only 10 outs. Jake Cousins (21 pitches), Tim Hill (14 pitches), Clay Holmes (23 pitches), and Mark Leiter Jr. (9 pitches) were all used, but an off-day between games helps. Cousins and Holmes also pitched in Game 1.

R&B singer and New York native Ashanti performed the national anthem before Game 4 and Paul O’Neill threw the ceremonial first pitch to A. J. Burnett. Luis Gil was the starting pitcher in Game 4 for the Yankees. The Dodgers employed a bullpen game with Ben Casparius as the opener.
His drive into the right-field pavilion sent Dodgers fans into a frenzy. It was the third walk-off homer in World Series history for a team that was trailing, following Gibson’s shot and Joe Carter’s drive for the Toronto Blue Jays that won the 1993 World Series against Philadelphia.
This was the first World Series played outside the state of Texas since 2018 and the first to not feature a team from Texas since 2020. Additionally, this was the eighth straight World Series to feature a team from Texas or California. The Houston Astros won AL pennants in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2022; the Los Angeles Dodgers won NL pennants in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2024; and the Texas Rangers won the AL pennant in 2023.
